  • In Pennsylvania, a “pre-licensed” (or “unlicensed”) therapist is someone who has completed their educational training, practicum experience, and internship experience to be a therapist and is now working towards completing an additional 3,000 clinical hours to qualify for licensure. A "provisionally licensed" therapist (or "Licensed Associate Professional Counselor") has met the same requirements as a pre-licensed therapist, but they have also applied for associate licensure with the state.

Pre-licensed and provisionally licensed therapists are supervised by an individual supervisor and participate in group supervision while completing their clinical hours for licensure. This means we will collaborate with our supervisors to ensure all clients are receiving the best services for them. Our supervisors also have access to case information, which is continuously protected under HIPAA. Information about our supervisors can be found on our individual team pages.

  • In the state of PA, if you are 14 or older, you can consent to therapy services without your parents knowing. There are certain limitations to this privacy, like if you are going to seriously hurt yourself or someone else. If you are younger than 14, your parents must consent to your therapy services.
